Hyatt Centric Downtown Minneapolis

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was big and clean and one thing that I liked the most was that there are motion activated lights on the bottom of the bed for when you get up ij the middle of the night and see where you are walking. The service was fast and amazing, we ordered a margarita pizza and it was delicious. The valet workers were so nice and they made sure to take good care of the cars. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family and I will definitely come back for another night.

The staff are the highlight. They're incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious, the restaurant serves great food, and they're only a few blocks from multiple lightrail stations. The low price is deceiving because it truly is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. And their partnership with Amex made booking simple. This is where I'll stay every time I'm in town.

The hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Minneapolis. The hotel space has a nice, contemporary vibe. The room size for two people was more than adequate. My wife and I especially appreciated the large bathtub and the motion detection lights connected to the bed. The workout area is fantastic, with dozens of treadmills, elliptical machines and a free weight area. It even includes a second level with a jogging track. The only thing missing for me was a leg press machine. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. My only criticism was the temperature in the dinner area on 10/28. It was extremely cold. I was meeting a client from Japan. We had to stop the meeting, retrieve sweaters and coats from our room before proceeding with our evening. It was a little embarrassing. I spoke to staff about the temperature twice and was told that maintenance had been alerted. I think that the space needs space heaters or a fireplace in order to make it functional.

I booked this stay through the Amex portal and was thoroughly disappointed. It is part of their “fine hotels & resorts” collection, and I don’t think it is deserving of that title whatsoever. A few issues: - The digital parking ticket I was given did not work; I went to the front desk to put both nights of parking on my reservation, and was texted two QR codes to use in the garage. Neither QR code worked, so I had to just get a parking ticket anyway, then the front desk validated the ticket for me. This didn't even matter, because the gates at the exit were broken, so I could have just parked both nights for free. - We ordered room service Friday night and were told it would be about 30 min for our two pizzas, and we hadn't heard anything an hour after I called. I called the front desk to check on it, then they brought the pizzas up. We would not have ordered at all if we knew it was going to take so long. Worst room service I’ve ever ordered. - There was a noise that disrupted our sleep both nights for the entirety of each night. It sounded like a dump truck was backing up in our room, or there was a guy with a jackhammer just above us from 10pm to 11am. I called the front desk so maintenance could come check it out, and the guy just said it was probably an AC motor that had gone bad in the room above. That's it... no apology from the front desk or anything. Please see attached videos for examples of the noise. Pros include the large gym, location, and the bed was comfortable. Again, this was my first stay booked through the Amex "Hotel Collection" and I was thoroughly disappointed. I emailed their feedback line and never received a response… we will not be back.

Enjoyed my stay here. Large room. Good service and glad they had tasty instant ramen in the store. Also nice they have some free fresh fruit and coffee and tea in the lobby. Only issue I had was getting woken up in the middle of the night each night by bikers roaring down the street, but not the hotel's fault. Perhaps they should install more sound proof windows. I was pretty high up as well.

Let’s kick this review off with the positive. Porter on the front desk and Zachary at the bar are both outstanding people. Zachary, in particular made our entire group feel welcome and it was a pleasure to meet. His mixed drinks are delicious and he understands the menu and how to make recommendations. Porter was incredibly helpful at check-in and very friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is incredibly comfortable, the rooms are large and the lobby is welcoming. I have two qualms, which are worthy of mentioning. First of all the water pressure in the shower was a mere trickle which happens to be a pet peeve. Secondly, the staff at the restaurant during breakfast service seems confused and unable to get food orders correct or delivered in a timely manner. They are lovely and genuine, and so apologetic, but if you don’t have time time wait for you meal, you are going to be disappointed when you have to leave before you eat. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, it’s comfortable and the evening bar staff made this a joy.

Everything was great. Stayed on New Years Eve. Clean, comfortable, not too far of a walk from USBank Stadium (about 5 blocks but connected by the skyway system if you prefer to be out of the elements) after the Vikings game and enjoyed a cocktail watching the ball drop in the hotel bar. It was nice to be able to sit down, meet some new friends without a cover charge or standing all night AND be able to run up to our room if needed, grab a drink from the bar, grab a piece of pizza from your new friends or play some Jenga by the fireplace! They had a breakfast buffet on New Years Day, $17 with salmon eggs benedict and many other things. My fiance enjoyed that very much however I went with the classic breakfast off the menu for $10 which is eggs, hashbrowns and your choice of meat. Very good experience.
